Formula
Bricks = (Net Wall Area × Bricks per Sq Ft) × (1 + Waste %); Cubes = Ceil(Bricks ÷ Bricks per Cube)

Worked example
Brick veneer facade with 35 sq ft window opening using standard modular bricks.
Outcome: Net wall area is 165 sq ft. Base bricks = 165 × 6.75 = 1,114 bricks. Adding 10% waste equals 1,225 bricks (~2.3 cubes of 525). Type N mortar: 9 bags (80 lb). Ties: 90 corrugated wall ties.
What is a "cube" of brick?
A cube is the standard packaging unit for bricks, delivered strapped together on wooden skids. A cube of standard modular bricks typically contains 525 bricks and weighs about 2,100 to 2,400 lbs.
