Total Door Area = Doors × (Door Sq Ft + Frame Sq Ft); Volume = (Total Area × Coats × Waste) ÷ 350

Worked example
Painting 4 standard 6-panel interior doors (both sides) plus door frames with 2 coats of satin enamel.
Outcome: Total surface area is 228 sq ft. Two coats require 456 sq ft. With 10% waste (501.6 sq ft effective), you need 1.43 gallons (or 5.7 quarts). Recommended: two 1-gallon cans.
How much paint does one interior door take?
One standard interior door (both sides plus edges) requires approximately 1 quart of paint for two full coats. For 3 or more doors, buying a 1-gallon can is more economical.
