Why Roof Fascia Boards Peel First

Fascia boards sit directly below the roof drip edge and behind aluminum gutters. Water overflowing during heavy storms wicks behind the gutter back wall and into the unpainted end grain of the fascia board. Trapped wood moisture forces the paint film to blister and pop off from the backside.
